Each child has a beautiful potential to love, to laugh, and to learn.  Our program is designed to facilitate the healthy growth and development of all children in our care.

Experiences at Woods Hollow are viewed as supplementing those provided by the family, with peers and teachers becoming important people in the child's "extended family."  Within this community, nurturing self-esteem is a high priority.  The uniqueness of each child is recognized and valued.  Offering children opportunities to give to the community and to share responsibility in carrying out daily tasks is considered essential to the development of a positive sense of self.

Consistent with the philosophy expressed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), both age and individual differences are taken into consideration in providing developmentally appropriate activities for children.  Young children are active learners who learn best through hands-on experiences of their own choosing. They benefit from supportive interactions with adults who provide them with stimulating materials and ample time to explore their environment and to interact with peers.

Children feel safe and happy at Woods Hollow Children's Center because
their needs are respected and met.
